How do I become a Freemason?
The main requirements of anyone wishing to become a member of our society are as follows:
1. He should be over the age of 21 years.
2. He should have a belief in a Supreme Being. Any faith. Any religion.
3. He should not have any criminal convictions.
4. He should enjoy the company of other men from different social and working backgrounds, Masonry is a world-wide organisation.
5. If he is a family man it is very important that his family obligations come first.
6. His partner must be supportive of his membership.
7. He must ensure that his joining fees and continued membership fees do not bring hardship upon his family.
8. His commitment (to the Royal Lodge of Friendship) would require him initially to attend 8 meetings per year.
9. He must join the Freemasonry family freely (of his own free will and accord) and not be pressurised by friends or family to join.
10. He must be willing to learn our rituals progressively during his years of membership.
11. Freemasonry doesn’t exist to assist a member in business therefore do not expect any pecuniary gain from your membership.
How can I join?
1. Ask a friend who is a Freemason to propose you into his Lodge.
2. If you live in or near Gibraltar contact the Secretary of The Royal Lodge of Friendship (use Contact section) who will be pleased to arrange an introduction to members of the Lodge living in your area.
